The ST-960 Fleet Management System is an affordable high security solution which brings encrypted position reports, text messaging and remote monitoring and control functions to a variety of conventional mobiles. ST-960 equipped radios operate seamlessly with other existing voice radios on any conventional, SmarTrunk or LTR systems. Portable radios can have messaging display and preset message reply.
| The ST-960 hardware consists of an internal board which installs in the radio’s option board port. A plug-in GPS receiver with magnetic base is used for AVL applications. A simple one cable interface connects the dispatch radio to the computer running the dispatch and mapping software. |

Two different levels of the ST-960 system option boards are available. The simple version supports text messaging with predetermined replies and the remote monitoring and control function. The full featured version provides all these same features plus the GPS interface. Portable radios support the simple version. An upgraded version of the JPS Communications’ NXU-2, the NXU-2A offers significant enhancements while connecting communications equipment to a digital network using RoIP (Radio over Internet Protocol) technology. The NXU-2A utilizes RoIP technology to enable communications radios to interconnect across the room or around the world. The NXU2-A is intended for use with radio communications consoles, radios, and other JPS products such as the ACU-1000 Interconnect Unit and the SNV-12 Voter. The NXU-2A is a general-purpose standalone device that interfaces full duplex audio, one RS-232 port, and four status bits onto an Ethernet network. A pair of NXU-2As forms a simple system to create a transparent communications link. The NXU-2A offers superior audio quality with a minimal use of network bandwidth and functions as a 10/100 BASE-T Ethernet device.
